1 year ago to 1 year from now

As i had quite a bit of time to myself today, i took a moment to think (i know what a novel idea!) and it struck me as to how much next year will look different from last year. I knew i was in a year of transition, but even this week lends greatly to the distinctions...

Last year the last week of my i was in Baja...a place i called home for five years of my life.....a dusty little town in the middle of nowhere mexico...lets just let you in a sneak peak of la colonia

This place has been key in forming who i am and what i value, i will always love everything about it. I am saddend that i dont have the opportunity to visit this year, and possibly not next.....but God has always provided me the time and the means to get back there when ive needed to be, and will make a way the next time he wants me there.

Next time this year.... i will be here:

on the carnival liberty! Very excited for this trip, and to start my life with Paul in such an exciting way, but cant help but feel a little wierd, when im more accustomed to going to poor places where i can be used by God to make a difference. Hopefully God will provide an opportunity for me to return to mexico, with Paul and introduce him to this part of my life that is so important to me.

1 year

Hard to beleive that this time on sunday of the long weekend next  year i will be mere hours away from being Mrs. Paul Munro. So much has changed in a year, and so much can yet change in a year, but its amazing to know that i have been blessed with someone who is commited to sticking it through no matter what comes!

Photo Challange #1 Nine of a Kind

So i was trying to figure out how to keep this site interesting and from becoming too much of just a place to store pictures, and i came across various "daily photo challanges". Now because im no so good with consistancy...i dont think i will be taking part in these challanges, however, i AM going to steal some of the ideas to figure out what pictures to post! So the first challange im am going to post is 9 images of one topic...this one is easy for me, since i seem to be addicted to taking picture of flowers and being spring seems very relevent to post flowers...and i have lots of flower pictures on my new camera :)

A Blog!

So...as i got a new camera for my birthday i have had thoughts about how to share those photos, and some of the thoughts and feelings behind them and voila....a blog was born!

Coming up with a name was harder however....what do you call a blog about photos....and make it both meaningful and different then everyone elses. My inspiration came in the form of a song called Al Genina (Leave the Light on) by Our Lady peace, that captures the feelings i have had many times as i have travelled  or come across different people in different walks of life.

"Al Genina (Leave The Light On)"

Fell asleep today
North Ontario
Woke up far away
A place I didn't know
A woman smiled at me
She said, welcome to my home
Life is different here she says it's not
Camouflaged with gold
And hey leave the light on for me
And hey leave the light on for me, yeah

Might not make it home
I can't leave here tonight
Not afraid to live
Not afraid to die
And hey, leave a light on for me
And hey, leave a light on for me
