Riots with a chance of Hockey

So tonight was game 7 of the stanley cup final. Go Canucks Go was our anthem. Home ice was our advantage....one amazing goalie our defeat. Proud of our boys they played a great season, and after 17 years of not making it to the finals...they deserve our respect...and they DID win this::
However; it was a night of dissappointment....a night that turned a beautiful, fun loving, multicultural city into a war zone.....taking cues from 17 years ago they took the the streets. Who are "they"...they are not the hockey loving canucks fans, nor are they the average vancouverite, but they are the few who managed to strip the canucks and the city of thier dignity by rioting, looting, and showing no shame. They are those who are not even old enough to remember the riots of 94, they are the young guys who brought bricks with them to watch a hockey game...they have sent a clear message to the world....Vancouver is shameful. Vancouver is an emberessment. For this reason...i look towards the next playoff season with hope...unfortunatly its not a hope that i had never expected coming from me, for its a hope that we dont make it very far. My loyalties to the people of the city, to the businesses that were taken advantage of and the economy that provides me a livelihood, to a city that hosted a fantastic olympic celebration and community that was created...is stronger then my desire to have the stanley cup. For this reason i hope that we do not win the stanley cup next year...or even make it to the final round. Take a rest boys..you deserve it. Maybe in a few years you can do it again, but for the sake of the community of Vancouver....wait a couple. The following scenes make me cringe with shame even though i know that i am not associated in any way with the people involved. But i post these pictures (found on the internet), that it may be remembered and learned from, and that Vancouverites may know how disgusting and humiliating it is that you stayed to watch or take pictures and encourage these fools (even if you "did nothing")...when did crime and distruction become a spectator sport in vancouver...why havn't your parents brought you up to be better then this?

What a disgrace to our city...and all for what...some jerk kids who think its cool to be a total failure in front of thier parents, thier city, thier country and the entire human race.
